Memorial - Illah Cantelo

To our St. Paul’s family,

May we hold in our thoughts and prayers Elmer Cantelo, following the graceful death of his beloved wife, Illah. May our sympathy and prayers extend to their daughter Rosemarie Havens and her partner Paul Hill, and six grandchildren.

Illah died peacefully Wednesday night at St. Joseph’s Villa. She had been battling dementia for a decade. She is also survived by her sister, Beatrice Laidman. Illah was predeceased by son Dale, who drowned in August of 2007. Elmer and Illah had been married 42 years. 

She died one day after turning 87.

Funeral arrangements are through the Marlatt Funeral Home. We anticipate a funeral Sat. Sept. 18 at 11 am in the Swackhamer Chapel.

Her ashes will be buried in the Polly Cemetery, Point Prim, Prince Edward Island.

We commend Illah to God’s gracious care and keeping.
