Worship With Us
New to St. Paul's? Here's What to Expect -
Our Sunday Worship Service is at 10:00 am. Our parking lot is not large so if full please park at the municipal lot just up the street or take advantage of street parking on Park and Cross Streets.
There are three entrances to the church for Sunday morning worship. The door off the parking lot has a ramp at the entrance going down to the elevator.
This door is used by DARTS. The Park Street, or garden entrance, leads to the sanctuary via stairs. The front doors on Cross Street also have stairs.
Greeters will be at each of the entrances and can assist you.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL THERE BE?
About 100 to 125, except during the summer months (and we won't make you stand and introduce yourselves!)
The service is livestreamed at 10:00 am to be viewed on our website or on Facebook. Recordings of our services can be viewed later on this website..
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Come dressed comfortably. Some of our members still wear suits and dresses, but many are casual and jeans are OK. You - not your clothes - are important to us.
Please do not use fragrances before coming to St. Paul's. Our building is scent-free for those who are sensitive to scents.
ONCE INSIDE, WHAT HAPPENS?
Look for our greeters stationed inside each door. They will provide you with a bulletin outline of the service and direct you to the sanctuary or the nursery for the youngest children who will be supervised by trained child care workers.
There are five choirs who do a wonderful job of leading us in song and praising God with their music - Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, Joyful Voices, the Afternoon Singers and the Holy Ukuleles (young people.) Our Minister of Music and the congregation are blessed with a keyboard, a grand piano and a pipe organ. We also have many musicians in the congregation who share their talents with us.
Children are always welcome in worship with their families. After our first hymn we have a story or message for children of all ages in the sanctuary and then they can go out for supervised time in the Nursery or YCC Room. Or they can stay in the Sanctuary with their families. We have an activity table half way down the centre aisle for the children who remain through the service.
Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. You are welcome to join us, regardless of age, religious affiliation, or no-religious affiliation. The table is open to everyone.
An offering is received during the service that helps towards the expenses and mission of our church. You are invited to give as you are able, but are not obligated to give. However we do appreciate donations, and a tax receipt will be provided for donations over $20. Please provide us with your name and address.
There are headphones for the hearing impaired, large print bulletins, cushions on some of the pews for those who need them, and If you need anything else, please ask a greeter. There are several areas, at the front and half way down the aisle for those who use wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers.
Don't be surprised if you see a dog or two in the Sanctuary. We have members who are involved with training puppies to become Service Dogs.
Expect the service to run about an hour, and after worship, the minister greets people as they leave. All are welcome to join us for coffee (lemonade in the summer months) and goodies in the Reception Hall after the service. Just follow the crowd.
